Here is where I shall tell this young website's life story from birth to present. It shall be a heartwarming, tear-jerking tale so I suggest you keep a box of kleenex handy and maybe grab some muffins. Yes, muffins. That would be a pretty good idea, in case you get hungry. Besides, who doesn't love muffins?
Well, anyway.
This domain was born in the wee hours of June 3rd, in the year 2007. I remember it just as if it were yesterday; the screams emitted by my wallet upon squeezing out the last bit of spare change, the agony of deciding on the perfect name, the overwhelming panic as I realized that I didn't know the first thing about maintaining a domain, the anxiety of acquiring a new responsibility, the four shots of Jägermeister--oops!
Moving on, this poor domain sat neglected for quite some time (read: nearly a year). Meanwhile, DreamHost mercilessly demanded child support every month, and I told myself that eventually I would get my money's worth out of it. Finally, on April 17th, 2008, I managed to dress it up in an acceptable design and after many hours of tedious coding, ROFLskates.NET made its official debut on the internet.
